DRBD RPM for Xen Server 6.0

Here is the latest RPM for Xen Server 6 – I haven’t had a chance to test XenServer 6.0 with DRBD local storage.

Download: http://bit.ly/v2S86L

I’m hopeful it will work without having to patch the Kernel – same as 5.6 FP2

If you have a chance let me know if it works.

Here is the RPM for the latest Kernel drbd-km-

  1. Thanks for the update MtK – I should get a chance to setup a proper cluster next week.Joh – I will take a look for you – what are you trying to achieve?

  2. My problem was to connect a dongle USB (license key for a software) in XenServer 6 and incapsulate (USB over ethernet) into a VM domU.I resolved magnifically with USB Redirector that work like a dream. This is the discussion of my solved trouble:http://www.incentivespro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=578Are XenServer a puzzle of kernel 32 and 64 bit?If you want you can create a post for incapsulate ANY USB device (one to one) from dom0 to domU it’s simple and usefull for a lot of people around the world.

  3. Works like a charme on to ProLiant ML350 G6, 512 MB battery backed cache. Thank you so much for your rpm. Otherwise i had had to use the save but old 5.6.HD Tune measures under Win 2008 R2 a file benchmark rate (2GB test file) of 121 MB / 68 MB (read / write).Again: Thank you for your valuable work!RegardsAndreas

  4. Do you have updated rpms that work on latest kernel as well?current kernel is the one listed here is

  5. Hi are you have rpm for x64?When install this rpm on get error when run service drbd startStarting DRBD resources: Can not load the drbd module.

  6. Hi Roman, Must be related to the updated kernel – I will compile a new RPM now with the latest kernel.I will post the download link in a couple of hours.Tks, Joe

  7. Hi JoeI installed the RPMs for the .529 kernel version and then then set up the DRBD config to primary / primary no problem. However, I can only seem to start guests on the master server. If I try to start a guest on the non-master or try to migrate a running gues to the non-master I get "the VDI is not available". Have you or anybody else come across this problem? I’ve trashed and reinstall XenServer 6.0 a couple of times but I can’t seem to get past the problem and I haven’t been able to find a satisfactory resolution on the Citrix forum.CheersJake

  8. Hi Joe,Thanks so much for the instructions and help!I’ve been trying to get DRBD going on XCP 1.5, which must not be quite exactly compatible with the 6.0 kernel rpm you’re supplying.Basically I can install the rpm, but, well, it doesn’t seem to do anything.uname -a reports back Linux #1 SMP Mon Feb 6 17:55:01 EST 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/LinuxAny hints?

  9. Thanks Joe — in fact that’s pretty much what I figured out… instead of downloading the source CD I downloaded the binary CD to get the kernel dev package and installed the necessary build components on a spare dom0 and that worked fine.My steps for the interested:XCP 1.5 DRBD Build on XCP dom0sed -i -e "s/enabled=0/enabled=1/" /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.reposed -i -e "s/enabled=1/enabled=0/" /etc/yum.repos.d/Citrix.repoyum install gcc flex rpm-build redhat-rpm-config make libxsltrpm -i kernel-xen-devel- need to put this somewhere else and remote mount it via nfswget http://downloads.xen.org/XCP/53341/sources/binpkg.isomount -o loop binpkg.iso /mntcd /mnt/domain0/RPMS/i686rpm -i kernel-xen-devel- /drbd/cd /drbd/wget http://oss.linbit.com/drbd/8.4/drbd-8.4.1.tar.gztar zxvf drbd-8.4.1.tar.gzcd drbd-8.4.1./configure –prefix=/usr –localstatedir=/var –sysconfdir=/etc –with-kmmake tgzcp drbd*.tar.gz `rpm -E _sourcedir`rpmbuild -bb drbd.specrpmbuild -bb drbd-km.specI’ve put the final RPMs up for the community on our site:http://download.locatrix.com/drbd/Cheers,Andrew
